⚖️ Janet brings a rare and valuable combination of legal and technical expertise. Originally qualified as a **civil engineer**, she spent five years managing construction projects on site before qualifying as a solicitor specialising in construction law. She is one of the very few female lawyers in the UK to hold dual qualifications as both a lawyer and an engineer.
🏗️ With 20 years of legal experience, Janet has advised on a wide range of construction projects, including:
🔹 Large industrial, power and energy projects
🔹 Shopping centres and commercial developments
🔹 Private residential properties
🔹 The conversion of commercial buildings into residential apartments
Janet supports clients throughout the entire construction process, from drafting and negotiating contracts with contractors, architects, engineers, project managers and health and safety consultants, through to providing ongoing contractual and commercial advice during construction.
🤝 She also assists with the negotiation and resolution of disputes, including through negotiation, mediation, adjudication and proceedings before the English courts.
Her unique understanding of both construction design and on-site implementation provides a significant advantage to her clients, which include developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects and other design professionals.
